Dr. Imgrund graduated in materials enginnering at the Technical University of Clausthal in 2002. He then joined Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing and Advanced Materials (IFAM) in Bremen, Germany, as a research associate and project manager for a wide range of research and development collaborations. He owns a PhD from the University of Bremen in Production Engineering, with a focus on metal powder technologies (2007). Later on he joined OBE, a company specializing in Metal Injection Moulding of components for automotive and medical applications, where, among others, he was responsible for carrying out the EU project “ReProMag” in the H2020 programme. Since December 2016 he has joined Fraunhofer Institution for Additive Manufacturing Technologies IAPT in Hamburg, where he is leading the department of Additive Manufacturing Processes and coordinating the Bionic Aircraft project (GA 690689).”
